About Civis4Reform
Civis4reform is a national network of citizen-led councils, Community, Accountability, and Transparency Councils, or CATCs. Operating as an unincorporated association, Civis4Reform was established in 2023 with the purpose of fostering a culture of civic engagement across all levels of society. With a revitalized culture of civic engagement, Civis4Reform will introduce Citizens’ Assemblies across the country where true deliberative democracy can take place.
The first priority is to establish CATCs councils in all 343 Federal Ridings. By establishing councils in communities across the country, the voice of citizens will be heard. Today we have active citizens from coast to coast participating in local council meetings, holding town hall meetings and supporting their fellow citizens in learning how to get involved.
About The Glorious Revival Vision 2034
The sanctity of the rights and freedoms of every person must rise above all other laws, acts of government or decisions in our courts of law. No person, institution, group, company or government may arbitrarily suspend or circumvent them under any circumstances.
We hereby announce The Glorious Revival Vision 2034, a 10-year project launching May 10th, 2024. This project will be our opportunity to restore and activate core societal principles and values, most notably, that morality is neither ambiguous nor relative, as William Penn (1644-1718) stated very clearly:
“Right is right even if everyone is against it, and wrong is wrong even if everyone is for it.”
We call on one and all to join in this leadership effort. By bringing our thoughts, emotions, and actions into coherence as individuals, we can do great things. Together, we will discern how to move into a new era of mutual respect and reciprocity. To achieve a prosperous, free and just future, all members of our society will be encouraged to play an active role, and give their voice to truth in communities across this great land.
Open Letter to Canadians
Governments are failing at their core responsibilities and that needs to change.
The responsibilities of governments arise from two core principles upon which our society is founded:
- that every person is a separate valued being with rights that can not be violated; and
- that governments were created for the purpose of protecting those rights.
Increasingly we see governments abusing the immense powers of public offices to impose laws, policies, or programs that undermine those core principles, for example:
- by imposing policies that deny the right of persons to manage their own lives in a sound and responsible way;
- by levying taxes to support policies that are not only poorly conceived, incompetently planned and badly managed, but also incompatible with the needs or wishes of citizens;
- by giving the right to bureaucrats, identifiable groups, companies, and private and public institutions to dictate what we must believe, what we must do, and how we must live; and
- by denying us the right to services that are essential for our lives.
We see more and more examples where our most basic rights are being trampled by the very institutions that we have created with the duty of protecting them.
If our society is to be returned to a sound footing, this must change.
The required change will only come about if we understand those core principles and the principles that derive from them and if we take steps to ensure that those to whom we entrust the powers of public office consistently defend them.
